IPG Kampus Pulau Pinang
In 1952, British built two
colleges in Malaya. One of them was in Kota Bharu,Kelantan, which was called
Kota Bharu Teachers’ College. One more was located in Penang, which was called
Penang Teachers’ Training College. Then, Kota Bharu Teachers’ Training College
was closed and the student teachers moved to Penang. Later, it became known as Maktab
Perguruan Persekutuan Pulau Pinang (MPPPP). Now, it has become Institut
Pendidikan Guru Kampus Pulau Pinang (IPGKPP).
IPGKPP is located at Combee Hills, in a beautiful valley
and it is surrounded by big and tall trees as old as over a hundred years. It
is near Georgetown and easy access to the banks, shops, mosques, temples and
churches. They are all in walking distance only from IPGKPP. IPGKPP is also a
stone’s throw away from Penang Lotus and Udini Mall.
There are ample of facilities in our campus and there is
no lack of facilities for the student teachers. There are big and spacious
classrooms, equipped with air-conditioners, study tables and comfortable
chairs. The library is always packed with hardcopies of books, as well as the
latest digital ones. Finger-licking good food at affordable prices can be
obtained at the cafe. Meanwhile, there is a big football field, which is used
for intercollege matches.
Here, we can meet special and interesting people. There
are friendly, helpful and comforting lecturers while the seniors are supportive
and respectful. Not only that, we can socialise with trustworthy, reliable and
fun-filled people.
My promotion would definitely encourage all of you to
come here to further your studies. We would also like to welcome you here to
create memorable experiences and cherish every moment in IPGKPP together. Come
and join us!
